Make room for what’s next.

The old couch. The crowded garage. The pile that keeps getting bigger. Start with a clear picture of what needs to leave—and what you want your space to become. Local Junk Hauling of Maine, LLC offers free estimates across our nine primary service areas.

A good clear-out starts with a little clarity.

You do not need to know truck sizes or estimate a pile by the cubic yard to begin. A short item list, a description of the space, and a few access details are a useful starting point. For your home, rental, or business, identify where the items are now and how they would leave the property. A sofa on the ground floor and one upstairs can involve different work. Include anything unusually heavy, attached, wet, sharp, or difficult to reach so the scope can be discussed before a pickup is arranged.

01 /

Furniture & bulky items

Replacing a sofa, clearing a spare room, or sorting out an old dining set? List each piece and its approximate size. Mention whether furniture comes apart and whether it must pass through narrow doors or stairways. Include mattresses, appliances, and unusually heavy pieces as separate items so their handling and acceptance can be confirmed individually.

02 /

Garages, basements & storage

A mixed collection of boxes, shelving, and forgotten equipment is easier to assess when you group it by type. Separate what stays from what goes, then describe the remaining pile. Note basement steps, low ceilings, detached buildings, or a long walk to the driveway. These practical details help turn a vague clean-up idea into a defined project.

03 /

A change at home or work

A move, room refresh, or business change can create a mix of furniture and unwanted belongings. Start with the areas that need to be ready first, and identify any move-out or handover date. If items are shared with a tenant, family member, or business partner, settle which belongings may leave before planning the removal.

A FEW DETAILS GO A LONG WAY

START WITH
THE RIGHT INFO.

  • Make a rough item list, including quantities and approximate dimensions for bulky pieces.
  • Describe where the items sit, including floors, stairs, narrow doors, and outdoor access.
  • Identify a possible loading spot and note any driveway or parking restrictions.
  • Keep items that must stay clearly separate, especially documents and sentimental belongings.
  • Include your town, preferred timing, and any materials that need special handling.

Not sure how much you have? A room-by-room list is a helpful place to start. Include the details you know when you request a free estimate.

LET’S CLEAR A FEW THINGS UP

BEFORE YOU
GET STARTED.

01How do I request a free junk hauling estimate?

Use the estimate page or email Jason at localjunkhaulingofmaine@gmail.com with the items, town, and timing. Even “one couch, two chairs, and six boxes in the garage” is useful. Add access details and flag anything unusually heavy or difficult to move. Estimates are free.

02Can I ask about just one item?

Yes. A single-item request is a sensible place to start. Identify the item, its approximate size, and where it is located. Acceptance, availability, and the final scope need to be confirmed for the specific job.

03What about paint, chemicals, or other unusual materials?

List those separately and identify them before planning a pickup. Do not mix unknown liquids, chemicals, batteries, or sharp materials into ordinary household items. Some materials require a different disposal route and cannot be treated as a general furniture or household pickup.

04What information helps determine an estimate?

Useful details include the item types and quantities, their size and weight, the loading route, and the project location. Photos and an accurate description can clarify the work. Jason reviews the project details with you; the website does not automatically calculate or confirm a price.
